Jen and Tim's Alaskan Elopement On The Water

Jen and Tim reached out to me asking if I could capture a very special moment for them: their Alaskan elopement, which would take place on a sailboat. How could I possibly say no to that?

They were a lovely couple to work with, and their style was right up my alley. We took photos while they were getting ready and explored the quiet cove before boarding the sailboat. Then, as a sweet (and really cool) surprise, a helicopter came to whisk them away!

It was a wonderful experience, and we got some beautiful photos in the wilderness to celebrate their Alaskan elopement. I was so honored to be a part of their special day.

Getting Ready

Jen and Tim got ready at a cute rustic cabin, but they still wanted to have a first look. Tim wore a handsome navy suit, waiting for Jen a little ways away from the cabin. He turned around to see Jen wearing her gorgeous lace wedding dress with delicate, long sleeves.

The moment was priceless, and I’m so glad they wanted to capture it! We took some time exploring the cove together, which made for some truly incredible photos. Even though it was a cloudy, misty day, the lighting was perfect and moody.

Then it was time to head to the sailboat!

An Alaskan Elopement On A Sailboat

Jen and Tim got visibly more excited and giddy once we got to the dock. We even took an adorable picture of them kissing beneath a sign that read “Caught at Seward Alaska.” The rain started at that point, but that didn’t stop this couple from having an Alaskan elopement for the books.

They got out their clear umbrellas and continued down the dock to the sailboat to say their vows. Once we took off, Jen and Tim went up to the helm and recited their personal vows to one another. The beautiful greenery and deep blue waters of the sea made the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding ceremony.

We took some more amazing photos on the sailboat to celebrate the happy couple. Jen came prepared with her rain boots, and we had umbrellas, coats and a cozy blanket to stay warm as we sailed into the cove. Once we docked, we took a few more photos until the helicopter arrived!

I waved goodbye to this cute couple as they ventured off into the wilderness in a helicopter. It was such a cool experience, and I felt honored to capture such a special occasion for them.

Final Thoughts

Jen and Tim were such a cute couple, and I’d work with them again in a heartbeat.

A lot of people want to elope because they want their wedding to be just for them. And I love being able to capture that moment in time for couples so they have something to look back on in the years to come.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer for your elopement, I’d love to hear about your plans!
